After School Talks

Our family is unique. Special in many different ways. We have five children ranging from 15 to 11 months. We homeschool our 8 year old. Our three little ones just play and our 15 attends our local High school. Since he has lived with us now two years I find my most favorite time with him is right after he get back from school. We sit and talk about different things that go on and just catch up on our day. Sometimes it last only about 3-4 minutes, and other times maybe 30 minutes. But the talking is good. And I notice that when we do talk things go just a little bit smoother, not always, but most days. Jeremiah is an awesome kids whose future is bright as long as he stays on track. And that sometimes is hard when the past creeps in. But with the support of many people around him, we hope to get him through High school one way or the other. And while we work at it I will continue to cherish those after school talks.

Valentine Day

Growing up I remember Valentine day not only for all the little cards we got in school, but also that my dad always left us a rose, card and Hersey Kisses. Nothing big, but it always meant a lot. So I wanted to make this day a little special for the kids. So last year I found these little mail boxes at Target for a $1 each. We put one out for each person so we can put little notes in them. That morning I also make pink pancakes for the little kids and Sausage and Gravy for my guys. And AnQuenette got to wear a cute little Heart outfit I got for her. We didn't go out to eat after church, instead we ate left overs from the night before party we had at church. It was a very nice day!!

Getting back on Track

So after a few weeks of sickness and other things going on, going to try to get back on track again. Much is going on here, as the back room is just about done, the domino effect is happening.

I redid our area where we hang our coats. With seven people and only six hooks it wasn't working very well. Plus the little kids could not reach them. So I saw a picture, adapted for my area and came up with this. It works much better and we have extra room now.

We got the dest built in the front living room that will become the new "office". Then we need to move the boys in the back room and it is time to get a girl room together.

We will get there!

In the mean time the weather outside has been a little white!! We have had a lot of snow for AL here!! Robby even got to build a Snowman!!!
